The molten salt circuit of the project has been renovated

The molten salt loop of the project has just been revamped to improve the test section. The facility, which is located in the Laboratories of the group, at the Department of Thermal and Fluids Engineering, Carlos III University of Madrid, operates with solar salt (a nitrate salt mixture 60% NaNO3 and 40% KNO3) and is capable of reaching temperatures above 500ºC.

All the pipes that form the loop have been rebuilt with a new configuration and now the brand new test section (vertical pipe on the right of the image) allows for more accurate and ambitious experimental campaigns.
